Ms. Barnes directs PATH's global human resources (HR) functions. She leads an empowered team of HR specialists dispersed across Asia, Africa, and North America. Her leadership responsibilities encompass organizational planning and policy, employee relations, total rewards, diversity, inclusion and belonging, performance management, and learning. Ms. Barnes ensures PATH’s mission and values drive the organization’s talent strategy and management practices. People are central to PATH’s impact and that serves as the foundation for all talent decisions.
Ms. Barnes initially joined PATH in 2007 to build a world-class talent acquisition program that powered PATH’s considerable growth. Her focus shifted to identifying and developing HR talent in the communities PATH serves culminating in her current role leading a highly effective global team of HR experts. She brings over 15 years of experience leading HR across multiple sectors, including global health, non-profit and development, life sciences, legal and the environment. Prior to joining PATH, Ms. Barnes served as a senior HR leader at an international law firm.
A Seattle native, Ms. Barnes earned a BA from the University of Washington. She is passionate about cultivating a work environment that honors differences and fosters learning.
